Greetings, DPS TIE Attendees-
The TIE conference is fast approaching, so here are some updates.
1. LODGING: We’ve heard that some DPS folks are still without lodging for the conference. Both Lake Dillon and Frisco are only about 10 miles away from Copper Mt. and may have more (and/or cheaper) accommodations available. Here are a couple of websites listing lodgings for those areas:
Lake Dillon: http://hotel-guides.us/colorado/dillon-co-hotels.html
Frisco: http://hotel-guides.us/colorado/frisco-co-hotels.html
2. YOUR TIE TEAMS STABILITY: PLEASE, if you have any changes to your school’s TIE team, let Jodi Hyatt know right away. This includes substitutions (one person is replacing someone else) or cancellations (someone can’t go and you can’t find a replacement from your school). We have a short waiting list of people that still want to go, but we need to let them know ASAP if a registration becomes available. Jodi can be reached at: 720-423-3313 or via email: Jodi_Hyatt@dpsk12.org
3. YOUR TIE REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION: Your TIE registration confirmation was sent to you by TIE via an email to the email address you listed on your registration form. These did not go out via US Mail. I’ve attached the spreadsheet I received from TIE listing all of the confirmed DPS attendees. If your name is not on that list, let us know ASAP.
4. YOUR $90 SCHOLARSHIP REIMBURSEMENT: When DoTS Ed Tech staff members meet with your school’s team at TIE, we’ll have you each fill out a short DPS Travel Expense Report. We’ll collect these and turn them in to the DPS Accounts Payable office. They’ll then mail you a check to your home address after the conference. So please note: DoTS TIE Scholarship attendees DO NOT need to pick up your $90 checks from the Accounts Payable office.
5. DPS TIE PARTY: We’ve finalized plans for the (mostly) annual DPS TIE party. Apple and Dell have graciously agreed to sponsor the event for the 80+ DPS teachers, administrators and staff who will be at TIE. Here are the party details:
When?: Tuesday, June 19th from 4:30-6:30pm
Where?: The Storm King Lounge will be opened for this exclusive DPS Only event.
What’s Provided? Snacks, cash bar, drawings for cool stuff, great company.
Storm King Lounge is in the main Copper Mt. Village area, facing West Lake, on the ground level of the Mill Club Lodge.
We’ll put up some party reminder signs around TIE, so please be sure to join us. It’s a great chance to connect with your district colleagues. Please share this info with your school’s TIE team members. The drawing for cool stuff will start about 5:00pm—must be present to win.

I created this website as a communication/collaboration tool so that you can keep in touch with other teams going to the TIE conference as well as your own school team. Post here to share valuable information that pertains to everybody such as sessions you found especially interesting/useful, thoughts on the keynote speaker's address or even your favorite restaurant at Copper Mountain.
